PAP GETTIN MARRIED TO REMY...IN PRISON

While Papoose and Remy Ma have previously denied that they were romantically involved, Papoose has changed his tune in light of Remy’s recent court troubles.
In an e-mail he wrote to MTV, Papoose said that he and Remy had plans to marry next month—and that those plans will continue, despite her facing up to 25 years in prison. This builds upon what's been previously reported by DX [click here to read...]
"We always wanted to keep our personal lives personal, so that's why we never went public with our relationship," he said. "Right now, I just feel like she gotta live through me. Yes, we were scheduled to be married on a yacht April 27th. But due to circumstances beyond our control, we are now making arrangements to be married in prison."
Papoose has previously shown affection toward Remy in his lyrics (“Remy look good in person, just like she do in the magazine/so I’ma stay close to Ms. Martin, like Dr. King”), but the two had flatly denied being involved up until this point.
As DX reported earlier today [click here], faces a possibility of up to 25 years in prison for an assault and weapons charge surrounding an altercation that landed former friend Makeda Barnes-Joseph in the hospital. Remy’s attorney, Ivan Fischer, plans to appeal yesterday’s guilty verdict.

REMY MA FOUND GUILTY...

It seems as if T.I. won't be the only rapper facing jail time in the near future. Today (March 27) 26-year-old Grammy-nominated rapper Remy Ma (real name Remy Smith) has been convicted on four major charges of the nine she was charged with -- two counts of first-degree assault, attempted coercion, and criminal possession of a weapon --after a 2007 incident in which she shot a friend of hers in the stomach (non-fatally) after a fight over $3,000 in cash stolen from Remy's purse. Remy's failed defense was that the shooting was an accident.
Assistant District Attorney Michael McIntosh said Remy "took an illegal .45-caliber automatic and loaded it with hollow-point bullets," then used both hands to cock the weapon as she got into the car. "She took every step you had to take to shoot somebody," said the prosecutor.
Defense lawyer Ivan Fisher said the gun went off accidentally as the women struggled over the bag.
The victim, former friend Makeda Barnes Joseph, who was shot in the abdomen, testified that she underwent three surgeries during a three-week hospital stay.
Remy was not found guilty of gang assault and witness tampering, among the nine total charges she faced. Reports are surfacing that as the verdicts were read, the courtroom broke out into madness with the victim's friends and family taunting Remy and making lewd remarks.
Remy could face up from five to 25 years in prison at sentencing. She was led out of a Manhattan courtroom Thursday, weeping and in handcuffs.
Justice Rena Uviller ordered her jailed without bail while awaiting her April 23 sentencing.

THE NEWS COMES JUST AS PRESIDENT SEAN "JAY-Z" CARTER HAS STEPPED DOWN IN HIS POSITION.

Despite becoming the biggest star signed to Koch Records, Miami deejay and Terror Squad member DJ Khaled has announced that his We The Best Music will be a partnership with Def Jam Records.
Khaled, who gained acclaim for his 2006 album Listennn, has gone on to become the primary deejay within the south, releasing albums filled with routine collaborations by Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Akon and Fat Joe. Collectively, his two releases have sold over 500,000 units and garnered radio play rarely seen by independent labels.
True to his way of speaking, Khaled commented on the deal. "I'm proud to be a member of the Def Jam family... I am extremely honored and excited to be a partner with them in We The Best Music. I look forward to creating great music and continuing the success. L.A., Shakir and Lenny S., are you ready? I am! Let’s go!"
The first artist in the deal is ACE, who appeared throughout Khaled's release. His information will be released by the label in coming weeks

WEEZYS IN TROUBLE!!!!!

25-year-old rapper Lil' Wayne, real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., was indicted by a jury with one count each of possession of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, misconduct involving weapons, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the Associated Press, Wayne pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on Friday in Yuma, Arizona. His attorney, James Tilson indicated that the rapper's tour would continued unchanged. Wayne currently has a March 7 court date for a status hearing.

Lil' Wayne's tour bus was stopped Jan. 22nd at a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint near Dateland, Ariz. Federal agents found nearly four ounces of marijuana, over an ounce of cocaine, 41 grams of Ecstasy and drug paraphernalia, according to authorities.
Authorities also found a .40-caliber pistol registered to Wayne, who has a concealed weapons permit in Florida.
